ABOUT US

Hello! We’re Kit 'n’ Kat - a Scottish production duo, comprised of Kitty McMurdo-Schad and Katriona Tweedie. We're passionate about bringing captivating stories to life across various mediums, including short films, music videos, and commercial projects.

Our focus is on telling empowering and unique stories with diverse representation, both in front of and behind the camera. We're dedicated to pushing boundaries and sparking conversations with our bold and thought-provoking narratives.

Kit 'n’ Kat was born when we met through GMAC’s Little Pictures Scheme as indepedent producers, funded by Screen Scotland. We took a leap and produced a short together outside of the scheme, and in doing so realised how great it was to produce as a pair - as friends and producers!
Since then we’ve continued to work together as well as individuals, sharing ideas and establishing ourselves within the industry in Scotland. We consider ourselves to be creative producers, meaning we love being involved from conception on a project. We pride ourselves on developing scripts and seeing a film through all stages of production.
In 2024 we were selected to be part of the inaugural cohort of the Sean Connery Talent Lab, a talent scheme by the National Film & Television School. Over the course of the year-long scheme, we have developed a short that is executively produced by BBC film. The short is currently in post-production.
We’re excited about the future of Scottish film, and are proud to be a part of it.
